La quilla
La Swallow de Barrett Miller: una single fin de base ancha que se estrecha rápido en el tercio superior, para drive y carves fuertes en una mid-length.
Se vende como single fin en fibra de vidrio maciza para un cajetín de longboard estándar, en 7.75" y 8.25", en smoke. La base es ancha donde importa y el outline se recoge rápido por encima, así que la mayor parte del área queda abajo. Foil 50/50, la sección clásica de cajetín central. El tercio superior estrecho lleva algo de flex, y eso es lo que impide que una quilla con tanta base se note atada a su línea: drive de sobra y aun así libre de canto a canto.
Cómo se traduce eso
El área baja y adelantada es drive: apóyate en el pie trasero y la tabla avanza en vez de deslizarse. El afilado rápido de arriba quita carga de la punta, así que la quilla cede un poco y suelta arriba del giro en lugar de agarrar todo el recorrido, y de ahí sale la libertad. Lo que se nota es una single fin que traza fuerte: rápida al cargarse, rápida al soltar, con proyección de verdad al salir por el otro lado.
A quién le va
A mid-lengths con cajetín central, surfeadas con algo de intención: la quilla para quien quiere trazar con una single fin más que trimearla. La de 8.25" es la versión estándar; la de 7.75" quita área para un surfista más ligero o una tabla más corta y suelta más la cola.

Our take
If you're on a swallowtail mid-length in the 7'0"–7'6" range — Miller's own Swallow shape or anything in that family — this fin was drawn for exactly that. It's carving-forward: keep it in eggy single-fin territory and it performs exactly as described, but it wasn't designed for hanging toes.
