La quilla
El twin ʻIʻiwi de Barrett Miller (se pronuncia E-vee), la plantilla de rendimiento que él combina con sus propios shortboards wing swallow, en fibra de vidrio maciza y compatible con Futures.
Un par de quillas twin con foil interior plano, dibujadas para velocidad y drive sin renunciar a esa sensación suelta y fluida que buscan quienes surfean twins. Miller las diseñó junto a una tabla concreta y no como plantilla polivalente, y la forma lo demuestra.
Cómo se nota
El foil interior plano es la disposición estándar en un twin: la cara plana queda contra la tabla, el exterior lleva el foil y la quilla genera sustentación al pasar el agua. En un twin, el drive y la soltura tiran cada uno para su lado —más área y más base dan lo primero, menos dan lo segundo— y esta plantilla está dibujada hacia el extremo del rendimiento, sin llegar tan lejos como para que la cola deje de deslizar cuando se lo pides.
Para quién es

Our take
The ʻIʻiwi wants to snap and pivot rather than carve long arcs — it requires an active rider and rewards fast redirections. If you ride Miller's wing swallow or a similarly snappy swallow-tail shortboard twin setup, this is the obvious starting point: the shaper built the fin to match. It's not for midlengths.

The ʻIʻiwi is a twin fin developed by Barrett Miller alongside his wing swallow shortboards and produced by True Ames under their custom shaper program in solid fiberglass with a Futures-compatible base. It is sold in one size, 5.5 inches tall with a 4.81-inch base, and has a flat inside foil. The template is intended for shortboard twin setups, particularly pulled-in swallow-tail shapes, rather than mid-lengths.
