La quilla
La 4-A en 2+1: una quilla central Greenough 4-A y un par de side bites True Ames, vendidas como set conjuntado con los tamaños a elegir en el checkout.
Tres quillas en fibra de vidrio maciza, compatibles con FCS, en smoke. La quilla central viene en 6.5", 7.0" o 7.5" y las side bites en 3.25" o 3.7". La 4-A es la plantilla con la que acaban la mayoría de las tablas de single fin, y pasa a un 2+1 sin protestar: la base llena sigue empujando desde el bottom, la punta afilada y flexible sigue soltando arriba. Las side bites suman agarre en el canto sin quitarle su trabajo a la quilla central.
Cómo se traduce eso
En un 2+1 la quilla central dirige y las side bites agarran. La 4-A es lo bastante neutra como para que lo que notes sea la tabla y no la opinión que la quilla tiene sobre ella: velocidad generada en la pared y agarre suficiente para seguir metido en el pocket cuando la ola te lo pide. Subir un tamaño de quilla central suma agarre y alarga el giro; las side bites de 3.7" hacen lo mismo en el canto, mientras que las de 3.25" dejan la cola más libre.
A quién le va
Mid-lengths, longboards y shapes híbridos con cajetín central y dos cajetines laterales, surfeados en un rango amplio de condiciones y no afinados para una sola. Es el set que hay que comprar si quieres un 2+1 estándar y fiable y prefieres no montarlo quilla a quilla.

Our take
Buy this when you want a mid-length or log dialed for hold and predictability in punchy surf and would rather not assemble the pieces yourself — it trades a little single-fin flow for rail grip and a wider usable range. If you want pure single-fin flow instead, run the standalone Greenough 4A, and keep the center modest: over-finning the center is the classic 2+1 mistake.

¿Por qué Volan?
Volan is a woven fiberglass cloth laid by hand and finished with a resin that cures to a warm amber tint. It flexes differently than solid fiberglass — more spring, more life, more feel through turns. Where solid glass is stiff and direct, volan breathes with the wave.
The hand-laid process means each fin has subtle texture and character. It's heavier, which adds momentum through flat sections. Surfers who ride volan describe it as "warmer" — the fin does more of the work, trimming and holding without demanding constant input.
