La quilla
Una single fin de flex con mucha área y rake extra, dibujada por Ryan Lovelace como su quilla de mid-length, en fibra de vidrio maciza.
Ryan Lovelace dibujó la v.Bowls como su compañera de mid-length: base ancha, rake amplio y punta completa, más rígida que la quilla de flex media. Viene en dos tallas, 7.75" y 8.5", en fibra de vidrio maciza, en kelp, smoke y transparente. La rigidez es la clave. Es lo que convierte un pie trasero pesado en drive en vez de en una quilla que se dobla bajo carga, y es lo que hace que la salida de un bottom turn chasquee en lugar de emborronarse.
Cómo se traduce eso
Mucha área y rake amplio dan un arco de giro largo: la quilla agarra a lo largo de un carve trazado y sigue empujando línea abajo en lugar de pivotar bajo el pie delantero. La punta completa es lo que impide que suelte pronto, así que el agarre se mantiene estable a velocidad y en olas con algo de empuje detrás. Cárgala fuerte al salir de un bottom turn y el flex tenso devuelve la energía en vez de disiparla.

Pick the v.Bowls for a mid-length you intend to surf hard, with drive and long arcs the goal; it comes alive when you stomp it and rewards a heavy back foot, but keep your weight forward enough to keep it from bogging. If you want a lighter, more forgiving version go ThickLizzy; for looser pivot off the tail, the McCallum Single.
