La quilla

4.5", 5.0" y 5.5", fibra de vidrio maciza con acabado gloss, en negro. Es la misma idea que la quilla estándar de cajetín pequeño, pero con un voladizo que lleva la quilla más atrás de lo que el cajetín permite por sí solo: 1.25" en la de 5" y la de 5.5", 1.125" en la de 4.5". Una plantilla utilitaria, dibujada para rematar un montaje poco corriente más que para ser la quilla en torno a la que se diseña una tabla.
Cómo se traduce eso
Ir más atrás en el cajetín mueve con ella el punto de pivote de la quilla, lo que asienta la cola y añade agarre desde el pie trasero sin añadir mucha área que arrastrar. Detrás de una twin o de una quad funciona de trailer; sola en una tabla pequeña es un estabilizador. Las tres tallas son el ajuste: la de 4.5" es la que menos cambia, la de 5.5" da el máximo de agarre y de drive.

The overhang sets the blade further back in the box and puts more fin in the water than the flush version, adding bite for a small-box board that needs more hold in steeper or more powerful surf — the overhang is there for area, not flex.
Our take
Choose the overhang version when your small-box mid-length or fish feels loose or washes out and you want more bite without going taller — it shifts the feel toward drive and authority at the cost of some looseness. If your board already holds fine and you want a quicker, freer feel, the standard Small Box Fin is the better pick.

True Ames lists the overhang at 1.125" on the 4.5" and 1.25" on the 5" and 5.5", setting the blade further back in the box than the flush version; the "1.5" in the product name is not the per-size figure. It is made for small-box mid-lengths, fish, and hybrids.
