La quilla
La plantilla de side bite de Channel Islands en 3.6", compatible con FCS y en fibra de vidrio maciza: un par para montar a cada lado de una quilla central.
Las side bites convierten una tabla de single fin en un 2+1: la quilla central sigue llevando la dirección y las dos quillas pequeñas añaden agarre en el giro y drive desde el bottom turn. Esta es la plantilla de Channel Islands, dibujada bajo el nombre de Al Merrick y cortada por True Ames en fibra de vidrio maciza. Con 3.6" se sitúa en la mitad de la gama de side bites: quilla suficiente para notarla en una mid-length o en un longboard sin llevar la tabla del todo a una sensación de thruster.
Cómo se nota
True Ames describe el juego CI como algo que añade mordida, drive y agarre extra sin renunciar a velocidad ni a flow, y lo orienta a olas más grandes o más verticales, donde una single fin sola empieza a deslizar. Es el intercambio habitual con una side bite de tamaño medio: más canto metido y un arco más cerrado y seguro, y menos de esa sensación de deslizamiento libre que te da una single fin en olas pequeñas.
Para quién es
Un longboard o una mid-length en 2+1 que se surfea con cierta entrega, sobre todo cuando la ola tiene tamaño, y cualquiera que ya monte una quilla central de Channel Islands y quiera las laterales dibujadas por la misma mano.

The foil and outline are tuned to feed a center fin rather than dominate it, so the board still turns off the back foot instead of tracking like a thruster.
Our take
The subtler half of the CI side bite range: extra hold on the drop and through steep sections while the board keeps its loose, pivoty single-fin character. If the tail still slides on bigger, steeper days, you want the 4.0" instead.

The 3.6" CI Side Bites are FCS-compatible, solid fiberglass side bites from True Ames's Channel Islands template line, the same family the CI Mid program was built around with Devon Howard and Channel Islands. The 3.6" is the smaller of the two staple sizes True Ames offers in the line, the other being the 4.0". They are sold as a pair for 2+1 setups on mid-lengths and longboards, typically run alongside a 6.5" to 7" center fin.
