Christian Beamishs Twin für Surfboards California – eine Mischung aus Performance-Twin und Keel, breit durch die Basis und flach gefoilt, für Boards, die beruhigt werden müssen.
Verkauft als Paar aus massivem Fiberglas, Futures-kompatibel, in Smoke. 5.21" tief auf einer Basis von 6.27" – mehr Basis als Höhe, das ist Keel-Revier –, aber der Rake ist sanft und das Profil moderat statt voll, also spurt sie nie so, wie ein echter Keel es tut. Flaches Foil. Sie sitzt mit Absicht zwischen den beiden klassischen Entwürfen und leiht sich von beiden: Drive und Kraft eines Keels, mit der Wendigkeit und dem Ansprechverhalten eines Twins noch intakt.
Wie sich das anfühlt
Die Basis ist Drive und Halt; die Höhe ist das, was eine Finne drehen lässt. Diese hier ist zur Basis hin beladen, also greift das Board im Bottom Turn in Wellen mit echtem Druck und schiebt weiter, statt hinten auszubrechen. Das moderate Profil und der sanfte Rake lassen genug Ansprechverhalten für schnelle Übergänge von unten nach oben, und genau das gibt ein voller Keel ab. Unter dem Fuß fühlt sie sich stabil und kräftig an statt skatey.
Für wen es passt
Fishes mit breitem Tail, Retro-Fishes und jeder Twin, der zu lose wird, sobald die Wellen brusthoch und größer sind – Point Breaks und saubere Wände mit Kraft dahinter. Für schwerere Surfer und für Umsteiger vom Thruster, die im Turn kräftig drücken und wollen, dass die Finne dabei an ihrem Platz bleibt.

Way more single fin than Thruster, but still with the ability to jam it in the hook of the wave.
Our take
A hybrid fin that refuses to apologize for leaning keel. Bottom turns go long and committed — the wide base delivers keel-level drive and projection while the moderate rake and height let you actually pivot out of the turn. Riders looking for snappy skate-release exits will find it claustrophobic; everyone else gets the drive without the lock-in.

The Beamish Twin was designed by Carpinteria shaper Christian Beamish of Surfboards California and is produced by True Ames in solid fiberglass with a raw sanded finish. It comes in one size with a Futures-compatible base, measuring 5.21 inches tall with a 6.27-inch base, and carries 80/20 foils and 5.5 degrees of cant. It was built for Beamish's twin fin boards — round-pin channel bottoms and double-wing swallows — which cluster in the 5'7"–6'2" range.
