Josh Farberows Flex-Finne – das California-Classic-Template von True Ames, neu gefoilt, damit es federt – eine Longboard-Single-Fin für Performance-Surfen am Point.
Verkauft als einzelne Finne für eine Standard-Longboard-Box, in 9.0", 9.5" und 10.0", in Blau, Kelp, Smoke, Clear oder Rot, massives Fiberglas mit flachem mattem Finish. Farberow kam zu True Ames und bat darum, den Umriss der California Classic so weit auszufoilen, bis er richtig flext, und das kam zurück: derselbe mittlere Körper und derselbe Rake, dünner im Querschnitt, sodass die Finne sich auflädt und zurückfedert, statt steif unter dem Board zu sitzen. Sie ist seither ein Kundenliebling geworden.
Wie sich das anfühlt
Flex ist gespeicherte Energie. Im Bottom Turn biegt sich die Finne und nimmt die Last auf; beim Herauskommen gibt sie diese Last als Drive aus dem Tail zurück. Der mittlere Körper und der Rake sorgen dafür, dass sie trotzdem spurt – es ist genug Finne da, um eine Linie zu halten, während du auf der Nose stehst –, aber sie fühlt sich nie so festgenagelt an wie eine steife Noserider-Finne. Turns kommen mit mehr Kraft und Projektion heraus, als der Umriss allein vermuten ließe.
Für wen es passt
Performance-Longboarding: Surfen, das nach vorn auf die Nose geht und dann zurück aufs Tail für einen echten Turn, besonders an den langen Rechts-Points, für die die Finne gezeichnet wurde. Für alle, die die California Classic fahren und dasselbe Template mit mehr Leben darin wollen. Nimm die 10.0" für Halt, die 9.0" für ein loseres Tail.
