Die 4-A als 2+1 – eine Greenough 4-A als Mittelfinne und ein Paar True Ames Side Bites, verkauft als aufeinander abgestimmtes Set, dessen Größen du beim Checkout wählst.
Drei Finnen aus Solid Fiberglass, FCS kompatibel, in Smoke. Die Mittelfinne kommt in 6.5", 7.0" oder 7.5", die Side Bites in 3.25" oder 3.7". Die 4-A ist das Template, bei dem die meisten Single-Fin-Boards landen, und sie geht klaglos in ein 2+1 über: Die volle Base gibt weiterhin Drive aus dem Bottom Turn, die sich verjüngende, flexible Spitze löst weiterhin oben. Die Side Bites bringen zusätzlichen Halt am Rail, ohne der Mittelfinne ihre Aufgabe wegzunehmen.
Was das bedeutet
In einem 2+1 lenkt die Mittelfinne und die Side Bites halten. Die 4-A ist neutral genug, dass du das Board spürst statt der Meinung der Finne darüber – Speed, der down the line entsteht, und genug Grip, um in der Pocket sitzen zu bleiben, wenn die Welle es von dir verlangt. Buy this when you want a mid-length or log dialed for hold and predictability in punchy surf and would rather not assemble the pieces yourself — it trades a little single-fin flow for rail grip and a wider usable range. If you want pure single-fin flow instead, run the standalone Greenough 4A, and keep the center modest: over-finning the center is the classic 2+1 mistake.

Warum Volan?
Volan is a woven fiberglass cloth laid by hand and finished with a resin that cures to a warm amber tint. It flexes differently than solid fiberglass — more spring, more life, more feel through turns. Where solid glass is stiff and direct, volan breathes with the wave.
The hand-laid process means each fin has subtle texture and character. It's heavier, which adds momentum through flat sections. Surfers who ride volan describe it as "warmer" — the fin does more of the work, trimming and holding without demanding constant input.
