Die Hobie Log Flex ist die Longboard-Finne der Hobie-Reihe, laminiert in Volan – der Flex kommt also aus dem Körper der Finne statt nur aus der Spitze.
Zwei Größen, 9.75" und 10.25", beide für Single-Fin-Longboards. Wo die Hobie Classic und die Hobie Legacy aus Solid Fiberglass sind, ist das hier die Flex-Version derselben Linie – der Name Hobie Alter, der 1954 den ersten Surfshop Südkaliforniens eröffnete und gemeinsam mit Gordon Clark das Surfboard aus Polyurethan-Schaum hervorbrachte – in einer Volan-Platte, die durch den Turn zurückfedert.
Was das bedeutet
Volan ist ein schwereres, gröber gewebtes Glas, das True Ames von Hand legt, und es flext aus dem Körper heraus statt nur aus der Spitze. Auf einem Log zeigt sich das als lebendigerer Bottom Turn und mehr Projektion daraus – auf Kosten eines Teils des eingerasteten Gefühls, das dir eine steife Pivot-Finne auf der Nose gibt.
Für wen sie passt
Ein Log von 9' bis 10', das ebenso mit Turns im Sinn gefahren wird wie mit Noserides. Willst du das Tail für Zeit auf der Nose verankert haben, erledigen das die Heritage oder eine D-Fin; willst du die Hobie-Kurven steif, ist die Hobie Legacy die aus Solid Glass.

The Volan body flexes through the body and trunk with the memory to return to center after repeated loading, producing increased speed and projection off the bottom and through turns.
Our take
This is for the longboarder who wants classic Hobie noseriding lines but wants the fin to load and project rather than feel dead — it trades a little of the locked-in stillness of a planted noserider for a livelier, faster feel through turns. If you want maximum dead-still tail hold for pure nose time, go to the Heritage instead.

The Hobie Log Flex is the classic Hobie longboard template built by True Ames in Volan. True Ames hand-lays 44-layer Volan panels for a high glass-to-resin ratio and aligns the weave roughly 70 degrees perpendicular to the base, so the fin flexes through the body and trunk. It comes in two sizes, 9.75" and 10.25", and is intended for traditional noseriding logs.
