Kevin Connellys KC Tri – das Allround-Thruster-Set für Surfer im mittleren Gewichtsbereich, FCS-kompatibel, aus massivem Fiberglas.
Ein Drei-Finnen-Set, gebaut um weiche, kraftvolle Turns statt um scharfes Pivot, mit genug Flex in der Spitze, damit die Finne am Ende eines Bogens entlastet. Das hier ist die Version aus massivem Fiberglas – das schwerere, satter wirkende Laminat der beiden. Das Template misst 4.67" Tiefe auf einer Basis von 4.56", 15.71 sq in Fläche.
Wie sich das anfühlt
Der Flex in der Spitze unterscheidet dieses Set von einem steifen Thruster: Die Spitze gibt unter Last ein wenig nach und federt zurück, wenn du aus dem Turn kommst, und deshalb kommen Cutbacks mit weniger Aufwand herum, als das Template allein vermuten ließe. Der Körper bleibt fest, Drive und Halt werden dafür also nicht eingetauscht.
Für wen es passt
Shortboards, gefahren von Surfern in der Mitte des Gewichtsbereichs, in Alltagswellen bis hin zu soliden Wellen. Es ist eine Wahl nach dem Muster ein Set für die meisten Tage statt eines Spezial-Templates für eine Art von Welle.

Our take
Run it on a thruster shortboard or performance hybrid when you want smooth, powerful turns and the planted, connected feel of solid glass, especially if you fall in the middle-weight range. If you want the same template lighter and livelier, go Hexcore; if you'd rather slide the tail loose than carve through it, look at a release-oriented quad instead.

The KC Tri Fiberglass is a True Ames thruster set in solid fiberglass with an FCS-compatible base. The template is a medium thruster outline with moderate rake, a solid base, and flex concentrated in the tip rather than the body; the solid-glass layup makes it heavier and more planted than a foam-core fin. It is aimed at middle-weight, all-around surfers on thruster shortboards and performance hybrids, and the same template is also offered in lighter Hexcore construction.
