Dieses Boarddesign borgt sich dieselben hydrodynamischen Prinzipien wie Bootsrümpfe – es hat eine konvexe Bodenkontur, mit der man weiter vorn trimmen und auch in kraftlosen Wellen ins Gleiten kommen kann. Und es braucht eine passende Finne mit sattem, fein abgestimmtem Flex. Auftritt L-Flex … Seit ihren Anfängen ist sie eine weit verbreitete Option für die unterschiedlichsten Wellenreitgeräte geworden; besonders gut passt sie zu Boards, die auf Beschleunigung, volle Rail-Carves und weiche Übergänge ausgelegt sind. Die L-Flex gibt dir Projektion die Linie entlang und ein positives Ansprechen durch die Turns – dein Board fühlt sich energiegeladen und lebendig an. Wir bei True Ames sind Greg für seine unschätzbare Begleitung dankbar. Seine klare Vision war der Auslöser dafür, dass Chuck Finnen mit präzisen Foils gebaut hat, um genau das richtige Maß an Kraft und Drive zu erzeugen. Und nach über 40 Jahren L-Flex ist sie immer noch eine unserer liebsten Finnen. Steck eine in dein Board und spür den Unterschied, den vier Jahrzehnte Feinschliff machen! Unsere Volan-Finnen sind mit präzisen Foils und passendem Flex feinabgestimmt. Mit viel Hingabe in unserer Fabrik in Santa Barbara, Kalifornien gefertigt, durchlaufen sie die strengste Qualitätskontrolle. Unsere Volan-Lagen werden sorgfältig von Hand gelegt und templatiert, für optimale Faserausrichtung und hohe Festigkeit – wobei der Flex eher aus dem Körper kommt als nur aus der Spitze. Das erhöht Speed und Projektion aus dem Bottom Turn und durch die Turns. Schlankeres Präzisions-Foil mit optimalem Flex. Die Volan-Fiberglass-Konstruktion erzeugt Performance-Flex. Die Größen 9 und 9.5 gibt es auch als Wide-Variante („W“), bei der die Basis für mehr Stabilität etwas länger ist.

The practical note from hull riders is that the thicker Volan section runs stiffer than the standard glass, so this is the firmer, more planted version of the L-Flex.
On a displacement hull or speed-oriented mid-length this is the designed-for fin when you want drive and stability over spring, and it earns its keep in bigger, faster waves where the extra stiffness keeps it from washing out. If you want the springier feel out of the bottom turn that hull riders favor, go to the standard glass L-Flex; for a do-everything single, the Greenough 4A is the more universal pick.
