Ryans neue Side Bites wurden entworfen, um in der Nebenrolle für 2+1 nach seinem Geschmack richtig zu glänzen – meist ein etwas paralleleres 2+1-Setup oder ein 2+1 mit eher wenig Finne. Dieses Set ist etwas stärker auf die Linie entlang ausgelegt und soll enger beieinander sitzen als ein weit auseinandergezogenes „klassisches“ Performance-2+1; diese Seitenfinnen passen richtig gut in längere Boards, Minigliders und als etwas kleinere Performance-Side-Bite-Option. Bei diesem Template geht es vor allem darum, die Schwerarbeit und das Grundgefühl des Setups der Mittelfinne zu überlassen und selbst als gute Rückendeckung und kleines bisschen Extra-Biss zu wirken.

The template is down-the-line driven and meant to cluster closer to the center fin than a spread-out classic performance 2+1 arrangement. They are intended to run alongside a mid-length or longboard center fin in slightly more parallel or under-finned 2+1 setups.
