Ryan Lovelace’ Twinzer-Set – zwei hintere Finnen mit zwei kleinen Canards davor, abgestimmt auf traditionelle Twinzer-Positionen.
Vier Finnen aus Solid Fiberglass mit rohem, geschliffenem Finish, in Royalblau und Smoke: vorne FCS-Canards mit Single Tab, mit 0°, 4° oder 9° Cant, und hinten Finnen auf Futures-Base mit 6° und 80/20-Foil. Das Set stammt aus der Lovelace-FM-Linie, ist aber auf klassische Twinzer-Layouts ausgelegt statt auf das des FM, und es passt besonders zu den FM-Shapes unter 6'8. Was ein Twinzer verspricht, sind Drive und Kraft eines Quads mit der Freiheit eines Twins, und dieses hier ist Lovelace’ Verbeugung vor Wil Jobson, der mit dem Design angefangen hat.
Was das bedeutet
Der kleine Canard sitzt vor und außerhalb der hinteren Finne und erledigt zwei Aufgaben: Er hält den vorderen Teil der Rail-Linie, und er beruhigt das Wasser, das an der Hauptfinne ankommt, damit diese mehr Last tragen kann. Daher kommt der quad-artige Drive, ohne dass vier Finnen in voller Größe im Wasser stehen. Der Cant der Canards ist die verfügbare Abstimmung – flacher für direkten Biss, mehr Winkel für ein weicheres Anlegen, wenn das Rail übergeht.
Für wen es passt
Klassische Twinzer-Shapes und die kürzeren FM-Boards, für Surfer, die einen Twin wollen, der seine Freiheit behält und trotzdem unter Last eine Linie hält. Die Ausrichtung des Sets ist Performance und nicht Nostalgie, es belohnt also, hart über das Rail gesurft zu werden.

The small front canard breaks the water before it reaches the main fin, feeding cleaner flow into the rear — the result reads like a twin with extra teeth, holding through a carve where a bare twin would start to slide.
Our take
Run it on a fish or hybrid twin when you want twin speed plus real hold through carves — you notice it most in the back half of a turn, where the tail holds instead of sliding out, so you can commit harder than on a bare twin. Want it looser, drop the canards and ride the Lovelace Twin; want a more thruster-like turn, the Mandala Twinzer is the pick.
