Ein Set aus vier Finnen aus massivem Fiberglas auf Futures-Basen, in Charcoal. McCallum hat es für die Round-Pin-Quads gezeichnet, die er seit Jahren shapt, also läuft das Template lang im Rake und flach auf der Innenseite. Diese beiden Dinge zusammen geben dem Set Drive, der durch den ganzen Turn hindurch weitergeht, und ein Release in dem Moment, in dem das Board entlastet wird. Es ist ein Quad für Boards, die über den hinteren Fuß gesurft werden sollen.
Wie sich das anfühlt
Verlängerter Rake zieht den Turn in die Länge: Die Finne hält ihre Linie durch einen weit gezogenen Bogen, statt kurz zu pivotieren, und genau das verlangt ein Round Pin. Das flache Innen-Foil hält die Strömung anliegend und den Drive am Laufen, solange Gewicht auf der Finne liegt, und lässt dann sauber los, sobald keines mehr da ist. Schnell auf gerader Linie und oben nicht festgezurrt.
Für wen es passt
Round Pins und Quads mit schmal gezogenem Tail, in Wellen mit genug Wand, um einen langen Turn darauf zu ziehen. Für Surfer, die Drive und Projektion aus einem Quad wollen statt eines losen, skatey Gefühls, und die zum Lösen entlasten, statt das Tail herumzuzwingen.

Elongated rake plus a flat inside foil give it strong drive off the bottom and instant release when you want to break the tail free, and flat foils across all four fins make for lightning-quick direction changes.
Our take
Run it on a pulled-in fish or round-pin quad in waves with some push, when you want snappy, off-the-rail surfing and release on tap for a vertical hit or tight top turn. It rewards a back-foot rider who wants the tail to respond instantly; if you want hold through long carves or an easier-flowing all-rounder, look to the Mackie Quad or Mandala AK4 instead.
