Wenn du in Skips Spuren gehen und den ultimativen Trim suchen willst, Widerstand minimieren, Speed aufbauen und das Board sprechen lassen – dann ist das deine Finne. Leichter, minimaler Rake und mittlerer Flex. Als Singlefinne einsetzbar und ebenso gut im 2+1. Passt gut zu Mid-Lengths, dünneren, gleitenden Boards oder Shapes, die auf gekniffene Rails oder lange Rail-Linien setzen. Flex is the thing riders say this standard-glass version lacks — the Volan build is the step up if you want the same template with spring through the body.
Put this on a Frye egg, a glider, or any fuller hybrid where the priority is trim, glide, and a planted tail — it holds a line and projects forward rather than swinging the tail through an arc. It is not a carving fin, and if your board feels dead and needs the fin to supply the engine, the Greenough 4A is the more versatile choice.

The Skip Frye is a single fin template Frye drew in the mid-1970s for his own eggs and gliders, made by True Ames. The outline is upright with very little rake and a base nearly as wide as the fin is tall. It comes in five sizes from 6" to 9.25" and fits a standard single-fin box, working as a pure single or as the center of a 2+1. A Volan version of the same template is also made.
