Beamish shapt für Surfboards California im Raum Santa Barbara und hat sich mit True Ames durch Templates gearbeitet, bis eines zu den progressiven Single Fins passte, die er baut. Der Umriss ist aufrecht, mit mittlerer Basis und voller Fläche an der Spitze. Als Einflüsse nennt er Brewer, Parrish und Yater, dazu eigene Elemente, und das Ziel war eine Single Fin, die Stellen einer Welle erreicht, an die eine Single Fin sonst nicht kommt.
Wie sich das anfühlt
Das aufrechte Profil verkürzt den Kurvenradius: Das Board pivotiert über das Tail, statt um eine nach hinten gezogene Finne herum einen Bogen zu ziehen, und es löst sich oben aus, statt durchzuhalten und abzuwürgen. Die mittlere Basis behält genug Drive, um aus dem Bottom Turn heraus zu projizieren, und mit der vollen Spitze hält sich die Finne fest, wenn eine Section sich aufstellt. Die Reaktion kommt sofort statt allmählich.
Für wen es passt
Progressive Single Fins und Mid-Lengths, die hart über das Tail gefahren werden – Boards, die fürs Drehen statt fürs Trimmen gezeichnet sind. Für Surfer, die Single-Fin-Flow wollen, dafür aber nicht auf den Top Turn verzichten möchten. Wenn stattdessen lang gezogene Bögen und Glide im Vordergrund stehen, ist ein geraktes klassisches Template die andere Richtung.

A 7.75" fiberglass single fin developed by Christian Beamish of Surfboards California in collaboration with True Ames, built to pair with his round-pin, channel-bottom Stormrider mid-lengths. The template draws on the upright Brewer, Parrish, and Yater single-fin tradition, with an upright profile, low rake, medium base, and full tip area. It comes in one size only. Intended for performance single-fin mid-lengths in the 7'0" to 7'10" range, particularly channeled or lightly concaved designs surfed off the tail.
