Mick Mackies Mini Keel Thruster ist ein Dreier-Set aus Keels: breite Basen, geringe Tiefe und der Drive, der aus beidem kommt.
Ein Thruster, der seine Vorlagen von Twin-Fin-Keels borgt. Das vordere Paar hat 7.39" Basis bei nur 4" Tiefe; die hintere ist kürzer in der Basis und weniger geneigt, um das Tail zu lösen. Massives Fiberglas, flaches Innenfoil vorne, 50/50 hinten.
Wie sich das anfühlt
Aus der Basislänge kommt der Drive, aus der Tiefe der Widerstand, also hält eine lange, flache Finne die Linie und macht Speed die Welle hinunter, ohne den Widerstand einer hohen, aufrechten Finne. Der Preis ist der Pivot: Dieses Set will in langen Bögen über die Rail gesurft werden, nicht vom Tail weggesnappt, und deshalb hat Mackie Basis und Rake der hinteren Finne etwas zurückgenommen – damit das Tail trotzdem herumkommt.
Für wen es passt
Boards mit breitem Tail – Fish, Hybride und Stubbies mit drei Plugs – in Surf mit genug Druck, damit sich der Drive lohnt. Wenn du eine Mackie Big Twin oder Sidecut Keel fährst und dasselbe Gefühl als Thruster willst, ist es dieses.

Combines a tri fin setup with classic keel twin fin inspiration — the shallow depth reduces drag for tremendous down the line speed and projection, and the side fins give serious spring off the bottom for wide tail surf craft.
Our take
Reach for this on a wide-tailed board with thruster boxes when you want keel speed and spring off the bottom but more hold than a twin gives. If you'd rather slice long, drawn-out two-fin arcs, the Sidecut Fish Keel is the call — this set trades some of that loose glide for projection and control.

The Mackie Mini Keel Thruster is a three-fin set designed by Mick Mackie and made by True Ames, sold here in the Futures-compatible solid fiberglass version. The two side fins use a wide base, minimal depth, and a flat inside foil, while the rear trailer is slightly smaller with less rake and a shorter base. The set is intended for wide-tailed fish and hybrid grovelers fitted with thruster boxes.
