Eine Größe, 7.25", in schwarzem massivem Fiberglas für eine Standard-Longboard-Box. Die Basis ist breit für eine Finne dieser Höhe, 5.255", und das Foil ist 50/50, sie ist also auf Balance gezeichnet statt auf eines der Extreme: Halt, wenn die Welle danach verlangt, und trotzdem lose und lebendig, sobald das Board auf der Rail liegt. St. Pierres Template zielt genau auf 2+1-Setups und auf kürzere Performance-Single-Fins, wo eine Log-Finne in voller Größe zu viel Fläche wäre.
Wie sich das anfühlt
Eine kurze Finne auf breiter Basis legt den Drive weit nach unten, in die Nähe des hinteren Fußes, also projiziert das Board aus dem Turn heraus, statt sich zum Halten auf die Fläche an der Spitze zu stützen. Das 50/50-Foil sorgt dafür, dass sie sich auf beiden Seiten gleich verhält, und genau das will eine Mittelfinne, die von Side Bites flankiert wird – keine eingebaute Schlagseite. Genug Halt, um ihr auf der Rail zu vertrauen, und oben so wenig, dass das Tail trotzdem ausbricht.
Für wen es passt
Eggs, Highperformance-Longboards und Mid-Lengths: als Single Fin in einem kürzeren Board oder als Anker in einem 2+1, in dem die Side Bites das Halten übernehmen. Nicht genug Höhe für ein traditionelles Log, auf dessen Nose du dich stellen willst.
