Die angeschrägte Vorderkante und die breite, aufrechte Basis gehen schnell in einen ausgeprägten Rake über. Dieses Design gibt viel Drive aus dem Bottom Turn und Halt, sobald das vordere Drittel des Boards belastet wird. Die schmale, flexible Spitze erzeugt Gefühl und Feinfühligkeit durch die Turns und gibt dir Projektion aus dem Bottom Turn. Takuya „Tappy“ Yoshikawa ist ein leidenschaftlicher, einfallsreicher japanischer Surfboard-Shaper, der Tradition und Moderne zu eigenständigen, hochwertigen Produkten verbindet. Mit 12 fing er an zu surfen, mit 17 shapte er sein erstes Board. Zwischendurch studierte er Grafik an der Kunsthochschule. Nach zehn Jahren Pause kehrte er mit 30 zum Boardbau zurück und ist bis heute dabei. Geprägt wurde Tappy Yoshikawa von der San Diegoer Shaping-Legende Skip Frye, dem er bei der Arbeit zusehen durfte – eine wertvolle Erfahrung für ihn. Unsere Volan-Finnen sind mit präzisen Foils und passendem Flex feinabgestimmt. Mit viel Hingabe in unserer Fabrik in Santa Barbara, Kalifornien gefertigt, durchlaufen sie die strengste Qualitätskontrolle. Unsere Volan-Lagen werden sorgfältig von Hand gelegt und templatiert, für optimale Faserausrichtung und hohe Festigkeit – wobei der Flex eher aus dem Körper kommt als nur aus der Spitze. Das erhöht Speed und Projektion aus dem Bottom Turn und durch die Turns.

The design gives plenty of drive off of the bottom, and hold when the front third of the board is weighted, while the narrow flexible tip creates feel and sensitivity through turns.
This is a more performance-leaning log fin than a pure pivot: put it on a performance log or heavier mid-length single you want to surf rail to rail and still walk forward on. If your priority is pure planted noseriding, step to the Tappy 1 or the Velzy Noserider instead.
