Ein Twinzer fährt vier Finnen, aber nicht als Quad: Jede Hauptfinne bekommt einen kleinen Canard direkt vor und außerhalb von ihr. Der Canard wirft einen Wirbel über die Hauptfinne, wodurch diese in einem steileren Winkel hält, als sie es sonst könnte. Canards werden als Paar verkauft; die hinteren Finnen gibt es separat oder in den Twinzer-Sets.

Brazie zeichnet sie klein und eng anliegend, sodass sich ein Set die meiste Zeit wie ein Twin verhält und den Halt der Canards erst zeigt, wenn die Welle steiler wird. Drei Cant-Winkel: 0° für den geringsten Einfluss, 4° als übliche Wahl, 9°, wenn der Canard am stärksten arbeiten soll.

The flat inside foil and small area add control and lift without dragging like a full side bite -- the looseness and feel of a two-fin setup with the maneuverability a plain twin can lack.
Our take
Buy these only for a Twinzer board, ideally paired with the Libra Twin they were designed around, and start at the middle angle setting before tuning. If you don't have canard boxes, or you want a complete matched four-fin set out of the box, these are the wrong purchase.

The Valaric Canards are the small front fins from Jordan Brazie's Valaric Twinzer system, foiled by True Ames in FCS-compatible, single-tab solid fiberglass. They run a flat inside foil with selectable 0, 4, and 9 degree angle options and mount forward of and outside a rear twin. Brazie designed them to expand on the Libra Twin, the rear hybrid twin from the same collection; they are not standalone fins.
