Die Velzy Noserider ist für einen Noserider im Pivot-Stil relativ schlank und damit etwas reaktionsfreudiger als ihre auf Zeit auf der Nose ausgelegten Verwandten mit breiterer Base und mehr Fläche. Mit dieser Finne macht es Spaß, ins Rutschen zu kommen!
Der Kopf hinter diesem Design ist Dale Velzy, legendärer Pionier der Surfindustrie. Als weltweit erster kommerzieller Shaper und selbst talentierter Surfer ist Velzy für seinen bleibenden Beitrag zum Longboard-Design bekannt: sein „Pig“-Surfboard, das den breitesten Punkt des Boards Richtung Tail verschob und es damit deutlich wendiger machte.
Auf einer ähnlichen Suche mit seiner Noserider-Finne wusste Velzy, dass die feine Fußarbeit von Leuten wie David Nuuhiwa – für viele der beste Surfer der 60er – davon profitieren würde, gerade genug Finne weit hinter den Zehen zu haben. Das relativ steife Foil dieser Finne gibt dir Stabilität, wenn du Hang Ten stehst, während ihr schmales Profil dich gleichzeitig locker werden lässt. Für die sensiblen Typen, die ihren Ritt gern mit ein bisschen Slide mischen, wird sie garantiert lebendig.

Our take
This is a noseride fin with manners: it locks you in on the tip without turning your log into a board that only goes straight. Pick it for a classic 9-to-10-foot log when nose time is the priority but you still want to move the board around — if you want a tighter, quicker pivot, the Tappy 1 is the move.

The Velzy Noserider is Dale Velzy's single fin for longboard noseriding, foiled by True Ames, and the template has stayed essentially unchanged since Velzy drew it. It is relatively slender for a pivot-style noserider, pairing sweep with a long base and a fairly stiff foil. It comes in 9.0", 9.5", and 10.0" sizes, with the 9.5" and 10" favored for 9-to-10-foot boards.
