Le side bite trasformano una tavola a pinna singola in una 2+1: la pinna centrale continua a dirigere, e le due pinne piccole aggiungono tenuta in curva e drive dal bottom. Questo è l'estremo piccolo di quell'idea: 2.60" di altezza su una base da 2.25", 4.51 sq in per lato, con un foil interno piatto tagliato più sottile del solito, così la coppia non costa quasi nulla in velocità. Come si sente
Una pinna così bassa non cambia il modo in cui la tavola gira; cambia per quanto tempo la tavola tiene prima di mollare. Aspettati un po' più di stabilità down the line e un po' più di spinta in uscita dal bottom turn, con la pinna centrale che continua a impostare l'arco. La sezione sottile è il motivo per cui la resistenza resta bassa: True Ames l'ha tagliata per meno resistenza e più velocità, non per il grip.
A chi è adatta

True Ames bites run an ultra-thin foil for less drag and more speed, but the differences between side bite setups tend to be subtle differences on different waves or days to experiment with rather than night and day.
Sidebites are usually pushed forward in hollower waves.
Our take
If you ride a single-fin log or mid-length and only want a hint of extra hold for steeper drops, this is the most conservative way to get it -- the glide stays intact. Don't expect drive through carves; if you want side bites that actually push you through turns, go bigger.

The 2.6" Side Bites are the smallest side bite template True Ames makes, in solid fiberglass with a Futures-compatible base, sold as a pair. The fins use a flat foil, narrow base, and ultra-thin section. They are designed to run alongside a center fin in a 2+1 setup on longboards and mid-lengths. The same template is also offered in an FCS-compatible single-tab version.
