La pinna
La Swallow di Barrett Miller — un single fin a base larga che si restringe rapidamente nel terzo superiore, per drive e carve decisi su una mid-length.
Venduta come pinna singola in fibra di vetro piena per un box longboard standard, nelle misure 7.75" e 8.25", smoke. La base è larga dove conta e l'outline si stringe rapidamente più sopra, così la maggior parte della superficie sta in basso. Foil 50/50, la sezione classica del box centrale. Il terzo superiore stretto porta un po' di flex, ed è questo che impedisce a una pinna con tutta questa base di risultare incollata alla sua linea: tanto drive, e comunque libertà da rail a rail.
Come si sente
Superficie in basso e in avanti vuol dire drive — appoggiati sul piede posteriore e la tavola parte invece di scivolare. L'assottigliamento rapido più sopra toglie carico alla punta, così la pinna cede leggermente e rilascia in cima alla curva invece di tenere fino in fondo, ed è da lì che nasce la libertà. Quello che senti è un single fin da carve deciso: rapido a caricarsi, rapido a lasciare andare, con una proiezione vera in uscita dall'altra parte.
A chi è adatta
A mid-length con box centrale, surfate con una certa intenzione — la pinna per chi vuole carvare un single fin invece di farlo scorrere. La 8.25" è la versione standard; la 7.75" toglie superficie per un surfista più leggero o una tavola più corta e scioglie ulteriormente la coda.

Our take
If you're on a swallowtail mid-length in the 7'0"–7'6" range — Miller's own Swallow shape or anything in that family — this fin was drawn for exactly that. It's carving-forward: keep it in eggy single-fin territory and it performs exactly as described, but it wasn't designed for hanging toes.

The Swallow is a single fin designed by Barrett Miller for his swallowtail single-fin mid-length, a board built in sizes from 6'6" to 7'6", and is manufactured by True Ames. It comes in 7.75" and 8.25" sizes; the 8.25" measures 8.25 inches tall with a 5.97-inch base. The template combines a wide base with a hard taper to a slender, flexible upper third and a 50/50 foil, and True Ames specifies it for mid-length eggy boards.
