True Ames ha preso quell'outline slanciato e quel profilo di rake conservativo che ricordano le single fin classiche degli anni '60 e '70, e li ha messi a punto in modo ottimale con un foil e un profilo di flex aggiornati, per la resa di oggi.
Frutto di uno sforzo collettivo insieme a Devon Howard e Britt Merrick, questa pinna è nata pensando alla mid-length Tri Plane Hull di CI: una tavola che unisce uno scafo plananante ispirato a Greenough all'outline egg di Al Merrick e ai profili di rail e rocker di stampo moderno di CI. Ma la pinna non è affatto limitata a quel design di tavola: rende benissimo su una varietà di tavole di misura media.

Our take
Buy this for hull-influenced mid-lengths, modern eggs, and anything in the 7'0"–8'6" range that wants to flow. It was built for the CI Tri-Plane Hull and that's still the best pairing — purpose-built for a specific board type, versatile enough to work on others, but most honest when the board underneath it is doing what the Tri-Plane Hull does.
ALTRO SU QUESTA PINNA
An upright, slender-outlined single fin in the 8"–9" range, developed by Britt Merrick and Devon Howard of Channel Islands for the CI Tri-Plane Hull mid-length and built by True Ames at their Goleta shop. The template combines a trimmed base and conservative rake with flex concentrated in the tip; a volan construction is also offered, which shifts flex from the tip into the body. It fits single-fin mid-lengths, eggs, and other boards in the 7'0"–8'6" range with planing bottoms and moderate rocker.
