Un single fin disegnato da uno dei più grandi artigiani di tavole da surf di sempre… Semplicità, linee pulite e curve classiche: il tema qui è tutto lì.
Figura iconica della cultura surf di San Diego, Skip Frye è un surfista affermato, noto tanto per il suo stile setoso quanto per i suoi design innovativi e originali. Ideato a metà degli anni '70, il single fin di Skip è nato per rendere al meglio in un ruolo di supporto su alcune delle tavole per cui è più conosciuto, come le sue Egg e le sue Glider. Minimale e pura, questa pinna si presta a un surf fluido e pieno di grazia.
Se vuoi seguire le orme di Skip e cercare quello scorrimento definitivo, ridurre la resistenza, aumentare la velocità e lasciare che sia la tavola a parlare… allora questa è la pinna che fa per te.

Our take
Put this on a Frye egg, a glider, or any fuller hybrid where the priority is trim, glide, and a planted tail — it holds a line and projects forward rather than swinging the tail through an arc. It is not a carving fin, and if your board feels dead and needs the fin to supply the engine, the Greenough 4A is the more versatile choice.
ALTRO SU QUESTA PINNA
The Skip Frye is a single fin template Frye drew in the mid-1970s for his own eggs and gliders, made by True Ames. The outline is upright with very little rake and a base nearly as wide as the fin is tall. It comes in five sizes from 6" to 9.25" and fits a standard single-fin box, working as a pure single or as the center of a 2+1. A Volan version of the same template is also made.
