La KC Tri di Kevin Connelly — il set thruster tuttofare per surfisti di peso medio, compatibile FCS, in Hexcore.
Un set da tre pinne costruito attorno a curve fluide e potenti più che al pivot secco, con abbastanza flex in punta da lasciare che la pinna si scarichi alla fine di un arco. Questa è la versione Hexcore, che taglia peso rispetto alla fibra piena mantenendo lo stesso template. Il template misura 4.67" di altezza su una base da 4.56", 15.71 sq in di superficie.
Come si sente
Il flex della punta è ciò che separa questo set da un thruster rigido: la punta cede un po' sotto carico e torna di scatto mentre esci dalla curva, ed è per questo che i cutback si chiudono con meno fatica di quanto il template da solo lascerebbe pensare. Il corpo resta rigido, quindi drive e tenuta non vengono barattati per ottenerlo.
A chi è adatto
Shortboard surfati da chi sta nella fascia di peso intermedia, dalle onde di tutti i giorni fino a onde consistenti. È una scelta da un set per quasi tutti i giorni, più che un template specialistico per un tipo di onda solo.

Our take
Put the KC on your everyday thruster shortboard when you want smooth, drivey, powerful turns rather than nervous, twitchy ones — it carves long and pushes through the back end of a turn instead of pivoting and stalling. It's a set for power surfers, and a friendly landing spot if you're coming off a single fin or midlength; if you want sharper release off the lip, step over to the TA Tri instead.
ALTRO SU QUESTA PINNA
The KC is a three-fin thruster set from True Ames, offered here in solid fiberglass with FCS-compatible tabs. The template features built-in tip flex, and its foil sits in the middle of True Ames' thruster lineup in terms of size and stiffness. It is intended for standard performance thruster shortboards, and the same set is also stocked with Futures bases.
