La pinna a pivot di Renny Yater, in tre altezze — verticale, profonda e tagliata per piantare la coda.
Una pinna a pivot sta all'estremo verticale dello spettro longboard: poco rake, gran parte dell'area sotto la tavola invece che dietro, così la tavola gira attorno alla pinna invece di disegnare un arco allontanandosi. Quella di Yater è la versione classica di quel template — tenuta prima del rilascio, piantata prima che sciolta — in fibra di vetro piena con finitura lucida e lucidata, nelle misure 8", 8.5" e 9".
Come si sente
L'altezza e un bordo d'uscita verticale sono ciò che tiene insieme un noseride: la coda resta ancorata mentre cammini in avanti, e la curva nasce dal far girare la tavola attorno a un punto fisso invece che dal disegnare un arco. Quello che non farà è proiettare down the line come fa una pinna con molto rake, e non lascerà scivolare il tail.
A chi è adatta
Log tradizionali surfati per stare in punta, e qualsiasi longboard in cui una coda piantata conta più di una coda sciolta. Le tre altezze sono lo stesso template; più altezza significa più tenuta.

A low-rake, high-hold template in the classic Yater mold: the upright profile and generous area plant the tail and hold it down so the nose lifts, and the low rake makes the turn a tight pivot off the tail rather than a sweeping carve.
Our take
Put this on a classic log or noserider when planted hold and tight pivot turns matter more than drive down the line; walk to the nose and the tail stays planted, step back and it pivots around tight. If you want the same nose authority with more rake and drive off the bottom, the Wayne Rich Harmonic '67 is the more driving of the two.
