Ryan Lovelace’ asymmetrisches Set für Asym-Boards mit Regular-Fuß – ein kleiner Keel auf der Zehenseite, eine Quad-Anordnung auf der Fersenseite.
Solid Fiberglass, Futures kompatibel, in Smoke, Clear und Kelp. Ein asymmetrisches Board hat auf jeder Seite einen anderen Umriss und eine andere Rail-Länge und will dazu passend auf jeder Seite andere Finnen: hier also einen kleinen Keel am Rail der Zehenseite und ein Quad-Setup aus zwei Finnen auf der Fersenseite. Lovelace hat das als die zugängliche, rundum ausgewogene Version der Idee gezeichnet und nicht als Spezialisten-Set. Die Seiten sind seitenrichtig, das hier ist also die Version für Regular-Fuß und nicht mit der für Goofy-Fuß austauschbar.
Was das bedeutet
Die Zehenseite bekommt den Keel, und ein Keel ist Base: Drive und Projektion down the line, mit genug Umriss weiter vorn, um aus dem Bottom Turn noch senkrecht zu pivotieren statt nur einen Bogen zu ziehen. Die Fersenseite bekommt zwei Finnen, und daher kommen die Cutbacks – eine Quad-Anordnung löst und greift sauber wieder, sodass ein Richtungswechsel Speed mitnimmt statt abzureißen. Das Board dreht in jede Richtung anders, und zwar mit Absicht, abgestimmt darauf, wie die Füße darauf stehen.
Für wen es passt
Asymmetrische Boards, die für einen Surfer mit Regular-Fuß geshapet sind, mit dem passenden Box-Layout. Es ist das ausgewogene, rundum stimmige Set und kein spezialisiertes, was es zu einem ebenso guten ersten Asym-Set macht wie zu einem durchdachten zweiten für ein Board, dessen Besitzer schon weiß, was er von jedem Rail will.

The result is one system that is planted on the rail you drive off and loose on the rail you carve, with a forehand driving off a single pivot and a backhand that releases through the carve.
Our take
Mount this on a regular-foot asymmetrical board cut for a keel-and-quad layout with Futures boxes; on the right board it vanishes underfoot and simply does the correct thing on each turn. Goofy-footers need the Goofy version, and riders on standard twins or singles should skip the asym layout entirely.

This is a complete asymmetrical fin set for regular-foot asymmetrical boards from Ryan Lovelace, made by True Ames in Futures-compatible solid fiberglass. The toe-side runs a small keel while the heel-side runs a quad cluster. It fits regular-foot asym boards built for a keel-plus-quad box layout, and a separate Goofy version covers goofy-foot boards.
