La dérive
La CI Spicy est une dérive unique de type vertical, dessinée en collaboration avec la belle équipe de Channel Islands. True Ames a repris cet outline élancé et ce profil de rake mesuré, qui rappellent les dérives uniques classiques des années 60 et 70, et l'a réglé au mieux avec un foil et un profil de flex actualisés, pour la performance d'aujourd'hui.
Fruit d'un effort collectif mené avec Devon Howard et Britt Merrick, cette dérive a été créée en pensant au mid-length Tri Plane Hull de CI – une planche qui mêle une coque planante inspirée de Greenough à l'outline egg d'Al Merrick et aux profils de rail et de rocker modernes de CI. Mais la dérive n'est en rien limitée à ce design de planche : elle fonctionne très bien sur toutes sortes de planches de taille intermédiaire.
Équipez-vous d'une CI Spicy et vous filerez down the line en pivotant dans le creux de la vague sur votre point break local. Si vous cherchez à relever un peu votre quiver de dérives uniques, cette merveille en fibre de verre saura assurément faire le travail.

Our take
Buy this for hull-influenced mid-lengths, modern eggs, and anything in the 7'0"–8'6" range that wants to flow. It was built for the CI Tri-Plane Hull and that's still the best pairing — purpose-built for a specific board type, versatile enough to work on others, but most honest when the board underneath it is doing what the Tri-Plane Hull does.
EN SAVOIR PLUS SUR CETTE DÉRIVE
An upright, slender-outlined single fin in the 8"–9" range, developed by Britt Merrick and Devon Howard of Channel Islands for the CI Tri-Plane Hull mid-length and built by True Ames at their Goleta shop. The template combines a trimmed base and conservative rake with flex concentrated in the tip; a volan construction is also offered, which shifts flex from the tip into the body. It fits single-fin mid-lengths, eggs, and other boards in the 7'0"–8'6" range with planing bottoms and moderate rocker.
