La dérive
Aucune collection n'est complète sans une D-fin traditionnelle, old school. Populaire à l'origine en version glass-on dans les années 60, la D-2 est aujourd'hui proposée en dérive à boîtier, pour celles et ceux qui ont envie de l'essayer et de faire un saut dans le passé.
La surface pleine de la D-2 permet des ajustements de direction subtils, mais l'attrait principal reste la facilité du noseride. Si vous voulez filer down the line et accumuler un temps sérieux sur le nose tout en rendant hommage aux grandes heures du longboard, c'est la dérive qu'il vous faut.
Dérive traditionnelle à surface pleine, conçue pour s'associer aux gros logs lourds et aux shapes Pig
Elle a une base de 9.75”, et elle entre dans un boîtier standard de 10” parce que True Ames a ménagé un débord à l'arrière de la dérive. Il vous faudra peut-être retirer le leash fixé au boîtier, mais la plupart des adeptes de la D-fin n'utilisent de toute façon pas ce genre d'accessoire moderne

That full area is what holds the tail down and keeps the board tracking straight enough to walk forward without the nose washing out — built for big, heavy logs and Pig shapes, where mass and a planted tail are the whole game.
Our take
Buy the D-2 for a heavy traditional log or Pig where noseriding and classic glide are the point: it plants the tail for serious tip time and does not want to turn off the tail. If you want to actively turn the board, the Beamish Storm Rider is the looser single, and a larger Greenough 4A is the noserider with a bit more turn available.
EN SAVOIR PLUS SUR CETTE DÉRIVE
The D-2 is a traditional D-fin made by True Ames in solid fiberglass, 9.0" tall with a 9.75" base that fits a standard 10" fin box via a rear overhang. The template reproduces the full-area, rounded-D glass-on fins of 1960s longboards in box-fin form. It is intended for heavy traditional logs and Pig-style longboards.
