Une keel est une dérive twin à base longue et à faible profondeur. C'est de la base longue que vient la relance : une keel tient une ligne et génère de la vitesse sur la face mieux qu'un twin plus haut et plus étroit. La faible profondeur explique qu'elle ne pivote pas : une keel demande à être surfée en arcs longs.

La Nightmare de Rich est une keel inclinée plutôt que droite, si bien qu'elle échange un peu de la rigidité classique d'une keel contre un turn que l'on peut vraiment finir. Convient à un fish surfé depuis le pied arrière.

Put them on a fish or performance hybrid with a wider, bite-y tail that you want to drive hard and fast down open faces -- keel-level push that still releases and turns. Riders chasing an upright lock-in on any tail, or a loose and playful pocket feel, should look at other twins.
