La dérive
Dessinées par le gourou du shape Wayne Rich, ces side bites ont été conçues pour compléter sa dérive centrale Power Tilt – même si elles fonctionnent incroyablement bien avec une multitude de dérives centrales. Légèrement plus verticales que les side bites standard, elles ont une pointe un peu plus fine et un peu plus de dégagement dans le bord de fuite. En ajoutant ces side bites à la dérive centrale, vous gagnerez en stabilité et vous ajouterez de la portance et de la projection. Les WR Side Bites de 3.4" conviennent très bien aux surfeurs plus légers, aux configurations de planches plus petites, ou à qui veut un ajout plus discret. La taille 4.0" est idéale pour les surfeurs moyens à plus grands, les configurations de planches plus grandes, ou pour qui recherche une tenue et une relance plus marquées.

They run slightly more upright than a standard side bite, with a thinner tip and relief through the trailing edge, which is what makes them turn with precision rather than just adding drag.
Our take
Run these with a dropped-down center fin, ideally the Power Tilt they were designed around, on a performance longboard or mid-length when you are a bigger rider or surfing bigger waves and want maximum rail hold. For a looser feel or a smaller board, the 3.4 inch version is the move.

These are Wayne Rich's 4.0 inch side bites, sold as an FCS-compatible pair in solid fiberglass by True Ames. The template runs slightly more upright than a standard side bite, with a thinner tip and relief through the trailing edge. They were designed to complement Rich's Power Tilt center fin but pair with most center fins in a 2+1 setup, and a smaller 3.4 inch version is also made. The 4.0 size is aimed at larger riders, bigger boards, and bigger waves.
