Frye l'ha disegnata per le volte in cui a una single fin farebbe comodo un piccolo aiuto — un po' di stabilità, di proiezione o di tenuta in più — e niente oltre a questo. È un template piccolo e tozzo, con una buona larghezza di base per le sue proporzioni: la più grande delle due side bite Frye, e quella che si fa sentire. L'area che c'è sta nella base più che nell'altezza: 2.99" di altezza, 3.70" di base, 7.91 sq in per lato, in fibra di vetro piena.
Come si sente
Una base larga sotto una pinna bassa dà drive senza troppa tenuta, e in generale è l'approccio di Frye: meno pinna, e più lavoro affidato alla linea di rail della tavola stessa. Aggiunta ai due lati di una pinna centrale, il cambiamento è reale ma contenuto: la tavola gira ancora come girava prima, solo che tiene un battito in più.
A chi è adatta
Tavole a pinna singola con due plug liberi, dove la pinna centrale è già quasi quella giusta. True Ames riporta anche il suggerimento dello stesso Frye: usa la coppia da sola, senza niente nel box centrale, e guarda cosa fa la tavola quasi senza pinne.

Frye's fin work is built around flow and trim, and these follow the same logic -- a touch more bite on rail when the wave stands up, while leaving the center fin to do the trimming and pivoting it was drawn to do.
Our take
Run these with a Frye-template center fin on an egg or glider when you want a little more hold for late drops and steeper sections without losing the glide, dropping your center fin a size. They are deliberately modest -- if you need strong rail grip on a heavier board in bigger surf, step up to a 3.7".
