このフィンについて
Album Surfboards の Matt Parker が、レギュラースタンスのアシンメトリーボードのために描いた三本セットです。トゥサイドに大きなフィンを一本、ヒールサイドに小さめのフィンを二本という構成です。
ソリッドファイバーグラス製、FCS 対応、カラーはブラック、三本セットでの販売です。アシンメトリーの板は左右でレールもテールも異なるため、このセットも左右対称の組み合わせではなく、片側ごとに異なるフィンで応えます。トゥサイドに大きなフィンを一本、ヒールサイドに小さなものを二本です。スタンス専用で、これはレギュラースタンス用のレイアウトです。左右のレールでフィンを入れ替えることはできません。Album と True Ames が共同で開発し、テストしました。
どう感じられるか
ターンを踏み込むのはトゥサイドなので、大きな一本はそちらに入ります。ボトムターンを支え、そこから伸びていくだけのベースと面積があります。ヒールサイドはより小さく切り返す側で、代わりに小さなフィンが二本入ります。一か所に面積が集中しないぶん、テールは素早く回り、求めれば抜けます。切り返しの間も左右どちらのレールも効き続けます。それがアシンメトリーの狙いそのものです。
どんな方に向くか
レギュラースタンスを前提につくられ、それに合う三つのプラグを備えたアシンメトリーの板に。ほとんどの時間を一方向で乗り、左右のレールをそれぞれ実際の役割に合わせたい方に向きます。片側はボトムからのドライブ、もう片側はトップでの小さなターンで、その間を取った妥協ではありません。

The larger toe-side fin harnesses power and drive off the bottom, while the smaller heel-side fins are tuned for tight, responsive redirection on the backhand.
Our take
If you surf regular-foot on an asymmetrical board built around an asym cluster, this set finishes the design: hard drive off the bottom on the toe side, tight snap off the top on the heel side. Goofy-foot riders want the goofy layout instead, and if you're on a standard symmetrical shape, a matched thruster or twin will serve you better.

The Album Asymmetrical Regular is a True Ames fin set designed by Matt Parker of Album Surfboards for asymmetrical surfboards, offered here in solid fiberglass with FCS-compatible tabs. The set is not symmetrical: the toe side carries a larger fin and the heel side runs smaller fins. The regular layout is keyed to a regular-stance rider; a separate goofy layout flips the toe and heel sides.
