サイドバイトを付けると、シングルフィンのボードが 2+1 になります。舵を取るのは引き続きセンターフィンで、小さな二本のフィンがターン中のホールドとボトムからのドライブを加えます。このセットは小さめで比率はほぼ正方形に近く、深さとベースの差は十分の一インチ以内、片側 5.14 sq in です。ドライブのために切られた、ベースの長いサイドバイトとは違う挙動を見せます。ソリッドファイバーグラスのスモークで、ペアでの販売です。
どう感じられるか
両側の面積がこれだけ小さいと、ボードの性格はセンターフィンが保ったまま、サイドバイトは保険として働きます。波の面が立ってきてシングルフィンが抜け始めたときに、寄りかかれる何かがあるということです。これほど均等なアウトラインは、ドライブよりホールドに寄る傾向があります。ターンを長く引き伸ばすというより、その途中でテールが滑り出すのを止める働きです。
どんな方に向くか
すでにシングルフィンとして成立していて、波に押しがあるときにまとめてほしいだけ、というミッドレングスやロングボードに。サイドにしっかり仕事をさせたい、ボトムターンからボードを押し出したいという場合は、背が高くベースの長いセットのほうが答えになります。

Our take

Run these on a Brothers Marshall 2+1, or any mid-length or log where you want subtle rail grip without losing single-fin glide, with the center fin dropped a size. If you want a big jump in hold and drive, this isn't it -- size up the side bites instead.
