Josh Farberow のフレックスフィン。True Ames の California Classic のテンプレートを、弾むようにフォイルし直した一本で、ポイントブレイクでのパフォーマンスサーフィンに向けたロングボード用シングルフィンです。
標準的なロングボードボックス用のシングルフィンとしてお届けします。サイズは 9.0"、9.5"、10.0"、カラーはブルー、ケルプ、スモーク、クリア、レッド、ソリッドファイバーグラス製でフラットなマット仕上げです。Farberow は True Ames に、California Classic のアウトラインをきちんとしなるまでフォイルで削り込んでほしいと持ちかけ、返ってきたのがこのフィンです。ボディとレイクはそのままミディアム、断面を薄くしてあるため、ボードの下で硬いままでいるのではなく、荷重を溜めて弾き返します。以来、お客様に選ばれ続けている一本です。
どう感じられるか
フレックスとは蓄えられたエネルギーです。ボトムターンの間、フィンは撓んで荷重を受け止め、そこから抜けるときにテールからのドライブとなって返ってきます。ミディアムのボディとレイクがあるためラインも保て、ノーズに立っている間もラインを保つだけのフィンがあります。それでいて、硬いノーズライダー用フィンのように張り付いた感じにはなりません。ターンから抜けるときのパワーと伸びは、アウトラインだけから想像するより大きく感じられます。
どんな方に向くか
パフォーマンスロングボーディング、つまりノーズまで歩き、そこからテールに戻って本格的なターンを描く乗り方に。とくにこのフィンが描かれた、長く続くライトのポイントに向いています。California Classic をお使いで、同じテンプレートにもう少し生気が欲しい方にも。粘りが欲しければ 10.0"、テールを軽快にしたければ 9.0" をお選びください。

This is the fin for a performance log under a surfer who wants to work the whole wave, not just park on the nose — it adds lively flex and projection to the California Classic outline. If you want the same outline stiffer and more predictable, go California Classic; if you want planted nose time instead of spring, go Dewey Weber Hatchet.
