Josh Farberow による Farb Flex のプロモデル。ベースを広げ、レイクを増やした Volan のロングボードフィンで、ターンを譲らないノーズライドのための一本です。
Volan ファイバーグラス製、サイズは 9.0"、9.5"、10.0" です。Farberow はオリジナルの Farb Flex の設計上の特徴を残したまま、ベースを広げてレイクを増やしました。ボトムからのドライブと、ノーズに立っているときの安定を高めるためです。ティップのフォイルは薄く削ってフレックスを足し、Volan のパネルがそこにさらにフレックスを加えます。織り目が正しい方向に走るようにレイアップしてテンプレートを取っているため、フィンはティップだけでなく本体からしなります。ボトムから、そしてターンを通しての走りと伸びが生まれます。
どう感じられるか
幅広いベースはドライブそのもので、ボトムターンでラインを保ち、流れてしまわずに押し続けます。そしてレイクが、そのターンをピボットではなく弧へと引き伸ばします。フレックスこそがこのモデルの名の由来で、荷重をかければ撓み、そのエネルギーをダウン・ザ・ラインでの伸びとして返します。ノーズに立っているときは、ベースとレイクの組み合わせが、体重が前にある間もテールを逃がしません。
どんな方に向くか
ノーズまで歩き、テールでターンもする、両方の乗り方をするロングボードに。足元で硬いままでいるのではなく、圧力に応えるフィンを求める方に向きます。ひたすら張り付くノーズライダーをお探しの方は、立ったピボット系のテンプレートをご覧ください。こちらは意図して、その粘りの一部をドライブと引き換えにしています。

The template keeps the beloved Farb Flex character but adds base width and rake for more drive off the bottom and more stability on the nose, with the flex coming through the body so it projects you out of turns rather than just wobbling at the tip.
Our take
A do-it-all longboard fin with Volan spring: on a performance or all-around log it noserides and genuinely turns. If your only goal is maximum dead-planted tip time, the Heritage is steadier, and the Hobie Log Flex is the more traditional Volan log fin with less turning emphasis.

The Josh Farberow Pro Model is a Volan-glass longboard single fin made by True Ames, developed from the Farberow Flex template with added base width and rake and a thinned tip foil. The Volan layup is built so flex comes through the body of the fin. It comes in three sizes — 9.0", 9.5", and 10.0" — and is intended for performance and all-around longboards.
