このフィンについて
Justin Quintal の Cutty。後縁をカッタウェイにした立ったノーズライダーで、サイズは 9.25" の一種類、歩くのと同じくらい強くターンさせるログのための一本です。
ソリッドファイバーグラス製、カラーはスチールブルーホワイト、フォイルは 50/50 で、どちらのレールからでも均等です。アウトラインの前半分は立ったピボット、後ろ半分はカッタウェイになっており、後縁から面積が抜かれています。それがこのフィンの狙いのすべてです。ノーズライドを支えるだけの面積を前に、ターンに逆らうほどの面積を後ろに残さない。Quintal は自身のロングボーディング、つまりひとつの波の中でノーズでの時間とレールを使った力強いサーフィンを両立させる乗り方をもとに描きました。
どう感じられるか
立った入り口がテールを据えます。面積が後方に引きずられるのではなくボードの下に収まるため、ボードはフィンを軸に回り、前へ歩いている間も安定して粘ります。そしてカッタウェイがそれを解放します。アウトラインの後ろから面積を抜くことで半径が短くなり、カットバックから抵抗が消えます。サーファーが求めていない長い弧を、フィンが押しつけてこなくなります。
どんな方に向くか
全長を使って乗るロングボードに。ノーズでの時間、そこからしっかり踏み込んだカットバックへ。得られる限りの粘りを求める方は、フルなピボットのアウトラインをお選びください。Cutty はその一部を、ターンと引き換えに意図して手放しています。

The front gives you the planted hold to perch on the tip, while the cutaway base frees the tail for high cutbacks and big bottom turns. It is built to do two jobs at once rather than specialize.
Our take
Put it on an all-around or performance log when you want nose time plus genuinely loose, aggressive turning from one fin. If you favor stable, clean noserides go to the Quintal Pivot; if you want maximum planted tail hold for pure nose time, the Heritage is steadier.

The Justin Quintal Cutty is a longboard single fin made by True Ames in solid fiberglass, stocked here in one size, 9.25 inch. The template pairs an upright pivot front half with plenty of area against a cutaway trailing half of reduced area, in a moderate overall profile with upright stature.
