Ryan Lovelace によるサイドバイトです。センターフィンに仕事をさせる 2+1 のために、小さく、内側に寄せて配することを前提とした一組です。
ソリッドファイバーグラス製、ロウサンド仕上げ、Futures 対応、カラーはロイヤルブルーとスモークです。Lovelace はこの一組を、自身の好む 2+1 のために描きました。やや平行に近い配置や、意図的にフィンを控えめにした板です。クラシックなパフォーマンス系の 2+1 のように広げて置くのではなく、内側に寄せて置くことを想定しています。テンプレートはダウン・ザ・ラインの走りに向いていて、役割に対してあえて小さく取られています。板の全体的な感触はセンターフィンが保ち、この二本がその後ろで少しだけ掛かりを足します。
どう感じられるか
この大きさのサイドフィンは、板そのものを変えることなく、ホールドの仕方を変えます。内側に寄せて置かれるぶん、ターンの中で効き始めるのは遅く、ラインを決めるのはセンターフィンのままです。そのため長めの板はグライドを保ち、ショートボードの弧に引きずり込まれることがありません。カントが垂直から角度をつけているので、レールが入るとともに効き始め、トリム中は静かなままです。内側がフラットなフォイルは、その効き始めをはっきりさせます。
どんな方に向くか
長めの板、ミニグライダー、そしてすでに思いどおりに回るものの、テールにもう少しホールドが欲しい 2+1 に。レールにフルサイズのセットを入れるとフィンが多すぎると感じられた板に対する、小さめの選択肢でもあります。

Designed to shine in a supporting role for the 2+1 setups he prefers: clustered tighter and a touch raked, they are about extra grip and a backup when the rail loads up, not about adding their own character to the board.
Our take
Run these when you want a 2+1 that keeps its single-fin soul and only adds grip where the wave demands it — they read as quiet, the center fin still defines the feel, and these just keep the tail honest. For something even more subtle go to the Side Runners; for a fuller performance 2+1, the Brothers Marshall side bites push harder.

Ryan Lovelace's side bites for 2+1 setups, made by True Ames in solid fiberglass, Futures compatible, and sold as a pair. The template is down-the-line driven and meant to cluster closer to the center fin than a spread-out classic performance 2+1 arrangement. They are intended to run alongside a mid-length or longboard center fin in slightly more parallel or under-finned 2+1 setups.
