Jeff McCallum のクアッドセット。伸びたレイクとインサイドのフラットフォイルという構成で、彼がシェイプするラウンドピンのクアッドのために描かれました。
Futures ベースのソリッドファイバーグラス製、フィン四本のセット、カラーはチャコールです。McCallum は長年シェイプしてきたラウンドピンのクアッドの下に入れるためにこれを描いたので、テンプレートはレイクが長く、インサイドの面はフラットです。この二つが合わさることで、ターンの最後まで途切れないドライブと、ボードの荷重が抜けた瞬間のリリースが生まれます。後ろ足を使って乗るためのボードに向けたクアッドです。
どう感じられるか
伸びたレイクはターンを引き延ばします。短くピボットするのではなく、長く描かれる弧の間もフィンがラインを保ち、それはラウンドピンが求めるところです。インサイドのフラットフォイルは、フィンに体重が乗っている限り流れを張り付かせてドライブを送り続け、体重が抜けた途端にきれいに離します。直線では速く、トップでは固定されません。
どんな方に向くか
ラウンドピンやテールを絞ったクアッドに、そして長いターンを描けるだけの壁のある波に。ルースでスケート寄りの感触より、クアッドからドライブと伸びを求める方、そしてテールを無理に回すのではなく荷重を抜いてリリースする方に向きます。

A snappier feel at a slight loss of drive — fine in decent surf.

Elongated rake plus a flat inside foil give it strong drive off the bottom and instant release when you want to break the tail free, and flat foils across all four fins make for lightning-quick direction changes.
Our take
Run it on a pulled-in fish or round-pin quad in waves with some push, when you want snappy, off-the-rail surfing and release on tap for a vertical hit or tight top turn. It rewards a back-foot rider who wants the tail to respond instantly; if you want hold through long carves or an easier-flowing all-rounder, look to the Mackie Quad or Mandala AK4 instead.
