このフィンについて
Jeff McCallum による現代的なキール。トラディショナルなキールのベース長を保ちつつ、レイクを足して面積を減らした一組で、ソリッドファイバーグラス製、Futures ベースです。
ソリッドファイバーグラス製のペア、カラーはチャコール、高さ 5.0"、ベース 5.9"、インサイドはフラットフォイルです。McCallum はクラシックなキールのベース長、つまりキールのドライブが生まれる部分を残し、そこにレイクを加え、ボディとティップから面積を抜きました。残ったのは、キールのようにダウン・ザ・ラインを走りながら、弧を最後まで押し切らなくても回ってくるフィンです。
どう感じられるか
長いベースはボードを前へ進ませ、落ち着いた速いトリムをもたらします。足されたレイクと細くなったティップが濡れ面積を削るため、フィンはまっすぐ走り続けるのではなくターンの終わりでリリースし、大きく踏み込んだ弧を描かなくても向きを変えます。フルなトラディショナルキールと比べると、直線での粘りの一部を、リリースと短いターンと引き換えにしています。
どんな方に向くか
テールの広いボードやフィッシュ系のシェイプ、つまり本来キールが切られる種類の板に。そのうえで、クラシックなキールが許す以上のターンを求める方に向きます。キールのドライブは欲しいけれど、そこに付きものの直進性は避けたいツインフィンサーファーにも。

An upright template with a modest rake and enough base to hold a line, set up to keep a wider-tailed board from washing out in the turn, so the board redirects off the back foot instead of arcing around.
Our take
This is the twin you reach for when you want a fish that surfs with rail authority rather than drifting down the line: it tightens the turning radius and gives you a real top turn instead of a long carve. If you want speed and hold over pivot on a wide keel tail, the McCallum Keel pulls harder.
