Ryan Burch のアシンメトリーセットは、地球上で定番と呼ぶべきアシンメトリーセットだと言ってよいでしょう。アシンメトリーという考え方をこれほど手がけ、試し、詰めてきた人物はほかにいません。トウサイドのフィンは「Burch Twin」から。ヒールサイドのフィンは Ryan 独自のパドルの考え方によるもので、George Greenough のパドルフィンに着想を得て、さらに Daniel "Tomo" Thompson のフィンの探求からも影響を受けています。ヒールサイドのフィンはずんぐりとしたアウトラインですが、切り欠いた後縁が、切り返しとレールに乗せた場面でフィンを開かせます。この3本の相性に並ぶものはありません。フロントサイドのボトムターンはドライブがあり、素早く、パワーに満ちた感触になります。ヒールサイドは反応がよく、なめらかで、滑らかで、ルースな感触です。ここでの眼目は、それぞれのレールを働かせ続け、すべての切り返しを調和よく釣り合わせることにあります。

Arguably the go-to asym set on the planet, as no one has messed with, tested, and dialed in the asym concept more than Ryan Burch.
The frontside feels drivey, quick, and full of power, and the heel side is responsive, buttery, smooth, and loose.
This is the set for a goofy-footer on a dedicated asym who wants a powerful frontside and a free backside, and it's best in punchy beachbreak and steeper faces where your two rails are asked to do very different things. Run it only on a board built asymmetrically for it — regular-footers need the Regular version, and a standard twin or fish wants the symmetrical Burch Twin.
