このフィンについて
Tappy Yoshikawa のクアッド。見た目は風変わりですが乗り味は読みやすく、スピードを生むこと、そしてきれいに抜けることを狙って角度が引かれています。
ソリッドファイバーグラスのフィン四本、Futures 互換。カラーはスモーク、レッド、ケルプ。フロントはデプス 4.78"、ベース 4.62"。リアはデプス 3.72"、ベース 3.77" で、クアッドとしてはフロントが大きく、リアは小さく抑えられています。Yoshikawa は日本のシェイパーで、サンディエゴで Skip Frye の仕事ぶりを見て過ごした時期があり、このフィンにも面積ではなく角度で結果を出すという Frye 譲りの流儀があります。
乗り味について
スピードとドライブを生んでいるのはテンプレートの角度です。リアペアを小さく保っていることが、ターンの最後までホールドし続けるのではなく、こちらが求めたときにテールをリリースさせます。どこも際どいところはありません。True Ames は見た目をアヴァンギャルドと呼び、性能は読みやすく確かなものだとしています。これほど型破りなアウトラインとしては珍しいことです。

Run it on a quad fish or modern quad when you want fast, drivey, predictable performance across a range of conditions — it's a do-most-things quad rather than a specialist. For more bite in powerful surf look at a Timmy Patterson quad; for a looser twin-fin feel, go TA Twin.

The Tappy Quad is a four-fin set designed by Japanese shaper Takuya "Tappy" Yoshikawa and made by True Ames in solid fiberglass with Futures bases, sold as a set of four. The template carries a good amount of rake and is intended for quad fish and modern quad surfboards.
