このフィンについて
2.5" のセンタートレーラー ― フィンの面積は 4.88 平方インチ ― クアッドの五つ目のボックス、あるいはスラスターのリアボックス用です。
デプス 2.50"、ベース 2.62"、ソリッドファイバーグラス製。フィン一本分の抵抗を足すことなくボードの感触を変えられる、それだけの小ささを持つセンターフィンです。クアッドの後ろで五本目として走らせるのも、スラスターのリアボックスで標準のトレーラーと入れ替えるのも自由です。フォイルの断面は極薄で、抵抗の少なさはそこから来ています。
乗り味について
これだけ小さなトレーラーは、舵を切ることなくボードの後方をまとめます。ファイブフィンのボックスに入れればクアッドを落ち着かせ、テールにピボットの支点を与えます。スラスターのリアボックスではボード後方の面積を減らすので、テールがルースになり、ターンが短くなります。面積が小さいぶん抵抗も小さく、スピードで支払うものはありません。FCS ベースはタブが二つではなく一つなので、前後どちらのスロットにも入ります。前ならドライブの出方が変わり、後ろならドライブが少し増えます。
こんな方に
五つ目のボックスがあるクアッド、センターボックスのあるツイン、そしてテールをもっと自由にしたいスラスターに。センタートレーラーに求めるものがリリースではなくホールドなら、3.3" が大きいほうです。

このフィンについて
The True Ames 2.5" Trailer is a small solid-fiberglass center fin with a single-tab FCS-compatible base, used as a fifth fin behind a quad or a stabilizer behind a twin. The single tab allows mounting in the forward or rear position of the plug. The foil is ground ultra thin to minimize drag, and True Ames offers the same trailer with a Futures base for boards with Futures boxes.
