True Ames の汎用サイドバイト、4.35" サイズ。サイドが控えめな足し算であることをやめ、ターンそのものを形づくり始める大きさです。
サイドバイトを付けると、シングルフィンのボードが 2+1 になります。舵を取るのは引き続きセンターフィンで、小さな二本のフィンがターン中のホールドとボトムからのドライブを加えます。True Ames はこのオールラウンドなテンプレートを六つのサイズで展開しており、4.35" はその中でも背の高い側にあたります。狙いは 2+1 から最小限ではなく最大限を引き出すことで、ボードがすでに使っているセンターフィンに、安定と伸び、そしてホールドを足します。True Ames がこのテンプレートで用意する二つの構造のうち、軽いほうの Hexcore で、ペアでの販売です。
どう感じられるか
深さが増すほどレールに乗せたときのホールドが増すので、このサイズのセットは、単にボードを落ち着かせるのではなく、踏み込んだターンの中でボードを固定し、ボトムから押し出します。その代わりに手放すことになるのが、シングルフィンをシングルフィンたらしめているルースでピボットするような感触です。両サイドに 4.35" のフィンが入ると、ボードの挙動はスラスターに近づきます。
どんな方に向くか
センターボックスとプラグ二つを備えたロングボードやミッドレングスで、レールを使って乗り、ある程度サイズのある波に入る方に。ボードにはシングルフィンらしさを残しつつ保険が欲しいという場合は、同じシリーズの小さめのサイズのほうが向いています。

Our take
Put these on a 2+1 performance log you surf hard in steep, powerful surf — they turn the board thruster-adjacent, with rail grip that holds through hard, committed turns. For most mid-length 2+1 setups this is more side bite than you need, and if the board tracks or feels stiff through transitions, step down a size.
