Mick Mackie の Big Twin に、背の低いキール状のトレーラーを合わせた三本セット。ツインとして、あるいはホールドが欲しいときはトレーラーを入れて乗れます。
Big Twin は多くのツインより面積が大きく、ベースも長く、クラシックなキールとトラディショナルなツインの中間に位置します。デプス 5.37"、ベース 6.03"、23.27 sq in。付属するトレーラーはその逆の形で、デプス 2.13"、ベース 6.47"、8.76 sq in ― テールに立ち上がるのではなく、テールの下に寝そべるような背の低いキール状のフィンです。手がけたのはオーストラリアのシェイパー、Mackie。三本ともベースは FCS です。
乗り味について
たっぷりした面積と長いベースが、ツインに求めるルースさを損なわずに確かなドライブを生みます。トレーラーの役割はそれとは別です。デプスはほとんどなく、ベースは非常に長い。そのため、波がレール沿いのドライブを求める場面でホールドと安定、そしてもうひと押しを加えながら、三本目のフィンがテールを固定してしまうような感じにはなりません。

The set lands somewhere between a classic keel and traditional twin, with the trailer giving a bit extra hold and stability, and a bit extra juice when down-the-line drive is required.
Our take
This is for a wide-tailed fish or fuller mid-length where you want keel glide and projection plus the stability of a low trailer behind it — a steadier, more planted setup with a forgiving back end. If you would rather slice tighter, rail-deep turns, go with the Mackie Sidecut Fish Keel; if you want pure twin looseness, the Mandala Delta-V Twin is the call.
