A full base, solid foil, calculated area distribution, and a stiff flex keep the fin loaded and pushing rather than bending out under load. It holds the line and projects you out of the turn instead of flexing and stalling.
It rides like a fin that always has speed in reserve: run the 8.5 to 9.5 inch sizes as a planted single on a log or mid-length, or the 6 to 8 inch sizes as a hard-driving 2+1 center. It suits a surfer who wants drive and hold over looseness; if you want a springier, livelier single, the Velzy Classic is the other direction.

Stiff, full-based single fin designed by Wayne Rich, honed for the powerful, drawn-out waves of Santa Barbara, and made by True Ames. It is stocked in a size run from 6 inches through 9.5 inches. The 8.5 to 9.5 inch sizes work as single fins on logs and mid-lengths, while the 6 to 8 inch sizes serve as 2+1 center fins.
