Avasol's Surfer's Barrier Stick in SPF 30: a tinted, non-nano zinc oxide sunscreen stick in a plastic-free tube, in four shades.

A zinc oxide sunscreen in stick form, made by Avasol for people who are in the water. The active is Zinc Oxide 24.5%, USP, non-nano and non-coated, held in organic coconut, jojoba, sunflower, tamanu and argan oils with shea butter and beeswax, which is what keeps it on through a session. Broad spectrum SPF 30+ UVA/UVB, water resistant for 80 minutes, in Light, Medium, Tan and Deep. The tube is plastic-free and bio-based rather than a plastic push-up, so keep it dry between uses.

How to use

Draw it over lips and face, then cover anything else exposed — fingers, hands, feet, the back of the neck. Rubbing it in makes the film less opaque if the tint sits heavy. Reapply after 80 minutes in the water. The tube is biodegradable, so store it dry rather than in a wet wetsuit bag.
