The Product

Avasol's Surfer's Barrier Stick in SPF 50: zinc oxide plus titanium dioxide in a plastic-free stick, in four shades.

The heavier of Avasol's two sticks. Zinc Oxide 24.5%, USP, non-nano and non-coated, is joined by Titanium Dioxide 6%, also non-nano and non-coated, for broad spectrum SPF 50+ UVA/UVB with an 80 minute water resistance rating. The base is organic coconut, jojoba, sunflower, tamanu and argan oils with cupuacu and shea butters, beeswax and vitamin E. Four shades: Light, Medium, Tan, Deep. The SPF 30 version of the same stick wears lighter for everyday; this one is for glare, altitude and long days on the water.

How to use

Use it on lips and face and over anything exposed — fingers, hands, feet, neck. Apply generously; rubbing it in makes the film less opaque. Reapply after 80 minutes in the water. The tube is plastic-free and bio-based, so keep it dry rather than leaving it in a wet bag.
